Matter Awarded BigCommerce Elite Partner Status

For us, the Elite partner status recognises what we’ve achieved as an agency in our journey over the past 18 months.

Matter reached a milestone today. After 18 months of collaboration with BigCommerce, we became an Elite partner.

*office cheers*

I remember early 2018, making the decision to lead Matter in the direction of BigCommerce. We had worked in the e-commerce space for years but without any official partnership. The opportunity to partner with the industry’s most versatile enterprise SaaS e-commerce solution was something to consider carefully. After doing some in-depth technical analysis of competing platforms and meeting with the BigCommerce team, it was clear there was a compelling reason to back BigCommerce as our platform of choice for mid-tier clients.

Our capabilities in strategy, design, web development and system integration could all be leveraged on BigCommerce projects positioning us well to take on new projects. Within months our developers became BigCommerce certified, diversifying their knowledge playing with a new and exciting technology.

By September 2018 we had developed our first 5 BigCommerce sites, with a drive to continue the momentum. By June 2019 we had launched BigCommerce stores for new clients, including international surfboard supplier Firewire Surfboards, Brown–Forman, one of the largest American-owned companies in the spirits and wine business, and a subscription ordering store for Gillette.

One of our biggest achievements to date was the opportunity to work on a pioneering headless commerce project for Firewire. The technology enables the primary frontend to be built using the WordPress CMS, allowing for greater customisation and support for their blogs and content pages. BigCommerce takes on a primary behind-the-scenes role, running fast and secure e-commerce functionalities.

In addition to working on exciting projects with some stellar clients, the partnership has seen us build relationships with BigCommerce engineers and product specialists, giving us the ability to provide input on new features and be involved in the testing of new features as part of alpha and beta product releases.

At this moment in time, as Matter continues to grow and evolve, our talented in-house developers work on our next BigCommerce project launches, and we couldn’t be happier with our partnership. Since the partnership commenced we have doubled our business and hired six new members to the Matter team.

For us, the Elite partner status recognises what we’ve achieved as an agency in our journey over the past 18 months. We’ve invested heavily in training and innovation to position our agency as BigCommerce specialists with strong capabilities to deliver BigCommerce stores and system integrations to the highest standard.
