9    Absolutely would. For a company like ours that has had no marketing in the past it's not easy to find a starting point. So far we've managed to get that started very successfully with Matter.

The Globals Awards, sponsored by the UK Over 50’s Housing Publishing Group, were presented at a ceremony at Grosvenor House, in London. This was the inaugural year for the Global Awards for seniors housing. The winners include representative from Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, the USA, Netherlands and the UK. Over 1260 developers, operators and managers from 102 countries were evaluated for the 20 awards.

A lifetime achievement award was made to Prof. Dr. Hans Becker, of the Humanitas Group in the Netherlands, who is considered one of the most significant seniors living/aged care thinkers in the world and is the 'Father' of the “Apartment For Life” concept.

“The Waterfront beauty boasts a bistro, beer garden, upstairs cocktail lounge and a wraparound verandah with expansive harbour views. Executive chef Lee Kwiez’s food is seasonal and smashing: duck and pistachio terrine, sugar-cured Petuna ocean trout, braised beef and ale pot pie, and dry-aged, grain- and pasture-fed steaks rather exceed pub-grub expectations. The prices reflect this, so: a) whip out the credit card, or b) visit on a weeknight for $15 schnitzel, steak or sausage specials. Reuben sandwiches and Kwiez’s  Victor Churchill “Hoagie” (a Philly-style hotdog delicacy) win over sports bar punters.”

This project has been a great fit for our skills, on the branding side of things we have developed the new look, labeling and packaging for the garments and our digital team has put together the website and digital marketing. For the website project we set ourselves the challenge of building a site that is a leader in the category, with absolutly no Flash content so that the site can be used on all devices. The shirt design tool lets you select fabrics and click through design options with ease, changing the appearance of the shirt as you go. The suit design tools have the same intuitive interface and will soon be updated with new fabric images to make it even easier to design the garments. 

We hope you like what you see and are inspired to purchase what is a very good quality product. Once you buy your first InStitchu garment you will want to buy more.

Whilst some of us here in the office have been able to successfully set up our +1 account and starting our new social network, others have had to look on enviously as it does not yet seem to be open to everyone.

Ordering custom made apparel online is not new, we have seen a proliforation of websites offering a design your own t-shirt function, but tailor made suits and dress shirts is only offered by a handful of websites around the world. Online retailing in Australia is currently estimated at 3-5%, whilst in the UK this is closer to 10% indicating a strong trend towards this method of purchasing in the future.

Matter Design is working with InStitchu to improve the online experince for the customer and to reduce the percieved risks of ordering these garments online. We are addressing a number of aspects of the business on this project including branding, packaging, website interface design, back-end ecommerce, social media strategy and search engine marketing. The result will be online in the coming months, so watch this space…
