Well today feels a little like the day I recieved my first Facebook invitation, with Googles new social network the +1 project being active. Google +1 is a new button you have probably seen popping up all over the net, it works a bit like a Facebook 'Like' button, but with +1 you can add a comment to your vote. Google will be incorporating the Google +1 button into its search algorithm soon to place the most importance on keywords which are being searched socially. This will add a human element to the information it uses to rank websites which in theory will overcome some of the less credible SEO techniques that are used to create phony inbound links from unrelated websites.
Whilst some of us here in the office have been able to successfully set up our +1 account and starting our new social network, others have had to look on enviously as it does not yet seem to be open to everyone.

InStitchu is revolutionizing the way men buy suits and dress shirts online by putting the customer in control of their fashion choices. InStitchu lets you customize the suits and business shirts you wear in the corporate world by uploading your personal measurements and information about your body shape, then select a specific fabric, the cut and different style options so your business suit or dress shirt can be tailored to be the perfect fit.
Ordering custom made apparel online is not new, we have seen a proliforation of websites offering a design your own t-shirt function, but tailor made suits and dress shirts is only offered by a handful of websites around the world. Online retailing in Australia is currently estimated at 3-5%, whilst in the UK this is closer to 10% indicating a strong trend towards this method of purchasing in the future.
Matter Design is working with InStitchu to improve the online experince for the customer and to reduce the percieved risks of ordering these garments online. We are addressing a number of aspects of the business on this project including branding, packaging, website interface design, back-end ecommerce, social media strategy and search engine marketing. The result will be online in the coming months, so watch this space…
